Location: WS10, Walsall
Pay Rate: £13.00 per hour
Shift Pattern: 4 on / 4 off rotating shifts

• Days: 7:00am – 7:00pm
• Nights: 7:00pm – 7:00am

The Role

We are currently recruiting for a reliable and safety-conscious Traffic Marshal / Banksman to join a busy logistics operation in WS10, Walsall. This is a key role responsible for ensuring the safe movement of vehicles and pedestrians across the site while maintaining the highest health and safety standards.

The successful candidate will work closely with site supervisors, warehouse teams, and third-party drivers to ensure traffic is managed efficiently and safely at all times.

Key Responsibilities

• Direct vehicles safely around the site.
• Guide drivers when reversing or manoeuvring in restricted areas.
• Ensure pedestrians use designated walkways and remain clear of moving vehicles.
• Use approved hand signals and communication devices to guide vehicle operators.
• Control vehicle movements at site entrances and exits.
• Monitor traffic flow and report hazards, near misses, or unsafe behaviour.
• Ensure all visitors and contractors comply with site safety procedures.
• Work closely with site supervisors and third-party drivers to maintain a safe working environment.
• Maintain a clean, organised, and safe work area.
• Follow all company policies, health and safety regulations, and site procedures.

Skills & Experience

• Traffic Marshal/Banksman certification is essential.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong understanding of health and safety procedures.
• Ability to remain alert, focused, and professional in a busy environment.
• Confident directing vehicle movements in a fast-paced logistics setting.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Working Conditions

• Outdoor working in all weather conditions.
• Standing and walking for extended periods.
• Working as part of a busy logistics and warehouse team.
• Rotating 12-hour day or night shifts on a 4 on / 4 off pattern.
• Weekend working is required as part of the shift rotation.
